Privacy
Privacy policy
The short version: we measure visits with Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. We don’t use advertising, and there are no accounts, forms or newsletter. Google receives the Analytics data under its own policy.
What we collect
Nothing on purpose, beyond what the two analytics services below record when you load a page. There are no accounts, forms, comments or newsletter.
- Google Analytics 4 (property “libresprite”, measurement ID G-YGPLFRCRT7), run by Google. It records page views, how you moved through the site, the page you came from, your approximate location (country or region, derived from your IP address), and your browser and device type. Google’s own policy applies to what Google does with this: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by Cloudflare, which hosts this site. It counts page views, referrers, and browser and device type. It doesn’t set cookies. Cloudflare’s policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We read the reports these two services give us. Most are aggregated, but Google Analytics can also show data for individual visits, so do not assume it is anonymous.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on your device (names beginning _ga) so that it can tell visits apart. You can block them or delete them at any time in your browser. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn’t set cookies.
Hosting
The site is hosted as static files on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect against abuse (for example IP addresses and request details) and may keep short-term logs under its own privacy policy. We don’t use those logs to identify or profile visitors.
What your browser stores
Besides the Google Analytics cookies above, the site saves two small preferences in your browser’s local storage, only on your device and never sent to us:
theme: light or dark mode, if you used the theme switch.tab:…: which tab you last picked in tabbed boxes (for example your operating system), so the same tab opens next time.
The interactive tools on this site (the live sprite editor, the keyboard map, the FPS converter, the download chooser) run entirely in your browser and don’t upload anything.
How to opt out
- Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block
googletagmanager.comandgoogle-analytics.comin your browser or content blocker. - Block
cloudflareinsights.comin your content blocker to stop Cloudflare Web Analytics. - Clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser at any time.
If you email hello@libresprite.dev, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply and to fix what you reported. We don’t add you to any list and don’t share your email with anyone.
Links to other sites
We link to GitHub, Flathub, Aseprite and other sites. Their privacy policies apply once you are there. Downloads of LibreSprite come from GitHub, not from us.
Changes
Google Analytics was added on 2 November 2026. Cloudflare adds its Web Analytics script automatically to pages served through its network; it was already running before this date. If we add anything else that collects data, we will update this page before it goes live, and the date above will change.
